The tradition of sabrage, opening a bottle of chilled Champagne by removing the cork and glass collar by using a single sweep with a sabre, dates back to Napoleonic days and is more popular now than it ever has been.
Champagne is known the world over as the drink of choice for those looking to celebrate a special moment. Think of Champagne and you think of luxury, joy and happiness, so the setting could not be more perfect than Nimtr, on Level 27 of the 5-star hotel.
The Sabre D’Or Gala Dinner will get underway with a cocktail reception at 7 pm followed by a lavish 5-course dinner at 7.45 pm that will include sumptuous items such as obsiblue prawns, Alaskan crab, duck, halibut, lamb and of course, a delicious and decadent dessert.
Each course will be paired with either wine or Champagne, including carefully selected bottles from Piper-Heidsieck, Dreissigacker, Rocca di Frassinello and Marchesi di Barolo.
There will also be a sabrage demonstration by sabre masters from Sabre D’Or and guests will have the opportunity to learn the flamboyant art for themselves.
Guests who do wish to sabre a bottle of Champagne, for which there is a charge of THB 3,000++, will receive a personalised 'Diplôme de Sabreur' from Sabre D’Or, a pin, as well as the collar and cork of the bottle they removed presented to them in a box.

The price for the 5-course dinner with wine and Champagne pairing, inclusive of the cocktail reception, is THB 6,000 plus applicable tax and service charge per person. Space is limited so advanced reservations are strongly advised.
