1350 Distilling Donates $2,700 To Colorado Springs Firefighter Fund

Colorado Springs, CO (1888PressRelease) October 12, 2024 - 1350 Distilling, a Colorado Springs veteran, women and teacher owned craft distillery announces a $2,700 donation to the Colorado Springs Fire Department Fallen Firefighter Fund. The funds were raised through the sale of the limited edition Memorial Bourbon dedicated to the memory of fallen firefighter Robert “Bobby” Keese.

The special bourbon was sold this past September, during the Fallen Firefighter Memorial Weekend with 13.50% of the proceeds going directly to the fund. Fund money is used to support the families of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty. All 250 bottles of the Memorial Bourbon were sold out during the memorial weekend.

"We are honored to be able to support the Colorado Springs Fire Department and the families of our fallen heroes," said Jake Weien of 1350 Distilling. "This donation is a small way to show our appreciation for their sacrifice and service."

The Colorado Springs Firefighters Foundation was founded in 2008 by members of the Colorado Springs Professional Firefighters who recognized the tremendous void left in the lives of first responders when tragedy strikes.

The Local 5 International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Colorado Springs Chapter hosts an annual Fallen Firefighter Memorial to honor fallen firefighters across America and Canada. During the memorial, names are added to the Wall of Honor Memorial in Colorado Springs’ Memorial Park. The memorial also includes a ceremony where the names of the honorees are read aloud, and their families are presented with an American flag.
