11th Annual Detroit Uncorked
Wine Tasting Event to Benefit Gleaners Community Food Bank.
- Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) September 22, 2015 - On Friday, September 25, 2015 from 6-9PM, the Detroit headquarters of Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan (Gleaners) will welcome Kroger Co. of Michigan, Delta Air Lines, The Detroit Wine Organization and over 600 food and wine enthusiasts for the 11th annual Detroit Uncorked. Detroit Uncorked has become one of the region's largest wine tasting events. Guests will be treated to a variety of international wines and a selection of Michigan-made craft beers and premium spirits. Proceeds from Detroit Uncorked will benefit Gleaners and each dollar raised will provide three nutritious meals for hungry neighbors in the community.
"Gleaners is pleased to partner with The Detroit Wine Organization and not only benefit from this year's Detroit Uncorked, but to also host the event at our Detroit headquarters and distribution center," said Gleaners President Gerry Brisson. "With every dollar raised providing three meals for our hungry neighbors, this event will have a significant impact on our community."
The Detroit Wine Organization's 2015 Winery of the Year Award will be presented to Caymus Vineyards. A new addition to this year's event will be food tastings from many of metro Detroit's most popular restaurants, including: Café Cortina, Joe Muer Seafood, Punch Bowl Social, Small Plates Detroit, Andiamo and The Melting Pot.
In addition to feasting on food and wine, guests will have the chance to bid on a bevy of items, from rare wines and iconic art to nights on the town and sports memorabilia.
General Admission tickets are $85 and include tastings of over 250 wines, food tastings from top Detroit area restaurants, a silent auction, live entertainment by The Chrystal Starr Band and complimentary valet parking.
A limited number of VIP Experience tickets are available for $150 and will include access to all of the General Admission benefits as well as a private strolling dinner by the Rattlesnake Club, access to select, rare wines, a special spirits tasting and live entertainment by the Daniree Duo. Jay Towers of Fox 2 and WNIC 100.3 will emcee the VIP party.
All guests must be 21 years old with valid ID to attend.
