10th Anniversary Royal-Tea At The Peninsula Chicago
The Peninsula Chicago is pleased to announce an elegant new offering in celebration of the hotel's decade anniversary: 10thAnniversary Royal-Tea.
- (1888PressRelease) April 29, 2011 - The Peninsula Chicago, served in the heart of the hotel, in the expansive and beautiful lobby with twenty-foot floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the 'Magnificent Mile', the Afternoon Tea at The Peninsula has become a local favorite and an attraction among visitors since the hotel opened in 2001.
The Peninsula's famous traditional three-tier tea service encompasses a selection of house-made scones, finger sandwiches and pastries. From now through December 31, 2011, the 10th Anniversary Royal-Tea option offers several exclusive enhancements for an even more luxurious experience, including caviar with blinis (served with traditional accoutrements), lobster soufflé, a trio of seasonal macarons and a special gift of 10 truffle pieces to take home, celebrating 10 years of legendary service at this luxury hotel in Chicago (http://www.peninsula.com/chicago/en/default.aspx). A glass of Laurent Perrier, Cuvée Grand Siècle Brut Champagne is also included
Guests will also have their choice of The Peninsula selection of proprietary and premium teas, which are featured under the following categories: black, scented black, classic green and white, herbal infusions, and oolong. A selection of blend coffee is also available.
A classical string duo featuring a violinist and cellist provide the entertainment from the minstrels' gallery located above The Lobby daily between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
The 10thAnniversary Royal-Tea requires 48-hours advance registration and a minimum of two guests.. The cost is US$ 110 per person, not including tax and gratuity. The traditional Afternoon Tea is priced at US$ 40 per person.
Afternoon Tea is served daily, Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, on Saturday with two seatings at 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm and on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. On select Fridays, Chicago's boutiques and retailers present informal fashion shows during afternoon tea. The Peninsula Chicago also offers Afternoon Tea for children and vegan or gluten-free options for guests with dietary restrictions.

The Lobby is located on the main Lobby Level (fifth floor) of The Peninsula Chicago at 108 East Superior Street and offers all-day dining daily. On Friday and Saturday evenings, The Lobby presents, "Chocolate at The Pen," a delectable all-you-can-eat chocolate bar with live jazz and dancing from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am. On Sundays, The Lobby features an amazing Sunday Brunch with numerous specialty stations and a children's section. Live jazz music provides the backdrop for brunch.
