The Story of TVP and You
Our story is pretty straightforward. Kestutis and Renatas worked two jobs to make ends meet: college, car insurance, mortgage, etc. Juggling between waiting tables at a restaurant at night and helping Russia-bound travelers during the day at a travel agency was rough. But worse was the fact that we realized there were no opportunities for advancement in our field at the agency. Bracing ourself as best we could, we approached the owner to let us buy and work for a stake in the travel agency. That way, we would be better equipped to achieve financial independence and motivated to implement our ideas. Well, our proposal did not go well…we ended up on the street.

Afterwards, we decided to open up a passport and visa expediting agency. We agreed we should stick with facilitating Russian business visas instead of a full fledged travel agency. As readers may recall, in 2005 the Internet was growing exponentially as a travel booking tool; no one wanted to use travel agents. We were part of a dying breed. In addition, passport and visa agencies did not require as much capital, just a website.

We rolled up our sleeves, set up two desktops in our living room, and started to call Russian communities around the country to offer our services. Travel Visa Pro was born early August 2006. We were surprised by the results and steady flow of requests. We figured having the business in Atlanta - where is no Russian consulate - meant we would be doomed for failure. So, we had options: move to Washington DC, Houston, New York, Seattle, or San Francisco. We moved to San Francisco; the city has many consulates and passport offices and very few competitors.

The first years were hard, but the most exciting. As they say, a small business owner must wear many hats: accountant, lawyer, courier, customer service agent, floor cleaner, etc. We answered phones 24/7, and lived in the back of the office while things got up and running. All our efforts paid off, and the business started to grow. We hired our first employee, Anton, back in 2008. In April 2009, we opened our 2nd office in DC. In 2010, we opened up in Los Angeles and Houston. In 2012, New York. In 2013, Seattle and Chicago. In 2014, we became an international visa agency and opened up in London. Currently, we have nine office locations in the USA, one in Canada, and one in the United Kingdom.

We have a handful of wonderful dedicated employees who help thousands of people travel every day. Our customer support and feedback help us stay motivated and work harder. 200 Yelp reviews, over 800 Trustpilot reviews, and 62000+ subscribers to our newsletters speak for themselves.
