With a mix of emotional advice and fact-based information, she guides readers from the perspective of a seasoned legal veteran as well as her own personal experience. Hinkle's book recognizes that in addition to the legal and potential custodial issues that might arise if there are children, divorce is one of the most stressful situations in life. The Holmes-Rahe index that ranks stress in one's life lists divorce as No. 2, only topped by the death of a spouse.
