- (1888PressRelease) February 10, 2025 - About “The Phantom Catnapper”:
Howard is a wealthy cat. Under the terms of his late-owner's will, he inherits her mansion, and estate, on condition that he provides a home for nine needy cats. The rescued cats soon move in and make themselves at home.
Unfortunately, they are haunted by a mysterious 'Phantom Cat.' Legend states that when the Phantom Cat is sighted, a tragedy will take place. One-by-one, the cats disappear, kidnapped by the fearsome Phantom Cat of Howard House.
About “The Legend of Hera”:
Hera, the Goddess of the Gulls, is the loneliest gull in Sealand. She is reputed to be the only gull able to converse with the Sea, an age-old tradition in Sealand; but old Hera failed to teach her successor the Sea language before she died. It seems the Sea language is lost forever to the proud, hard gull race. If the gulls found out Hera's lonely secret, they would kill her. Just when all seems lost, the Sea language finds Hera - and her life, and mind, are forever transformed.

I read this book firstly as an adult with a view to sending it to my great-granddaughter. I found it a warm and intriguing mystery. The characters were portrayed with genuine personalities, idiosyncrasies and their own peculiar traits. Usually I’m quite good at solving “whodunnits” But I must admit I suspected all the cats - with the exception of Howard of course - at one time, this time however I was kept guessing until the end. The author must definitely be a cat lover. Definitely recommend this book.

I loved this book, as did my children when I read it to them.
Howard, the cat, inherits a mansion on the understanding that he will welcome nine other cats in need to join him. A wide range of interesting cats move in; some get on with each other, and some don't. Like an Agatha Christie novel, the legend of the Phantom Cat strikes and the cats go missing, one-by-one.
The story is written in such a way that it keeps you guessing throughout as to who the mysterious Phantom Cat is and what his/her devious plan is.
