"The Mission of Francesco", a TV project written and presented by Diego Antolini
Diego Antolini officially presents in Perugia a TV project produced by "Assisi for Peace TV" and directed by Stefano Torrese.
- (1888PressRelease) May 10, 2011 - "It's an ambitious project my association is carrying out since 10 years ago, that of giving a new and untold vision of Saint Francis" said the President ad Honorem of the association "Assisi for Peace TV", dott. Gianmario Gubbiotti. Diego Antolini began to collaborate with the association several years ago, first by studying and researching upon the saint of Assisi, and then working to the screenplay of a motion picture.
"Now - says Antolini - it is important to involve an ever greater number of people and to communicate the image of Francesco through this new perspective. We believe our vision to be more truthful and profound than that of the classic biographical references that came to us with the Franciscan Sources. We do not mean to deny the validity of the Sources, nor its official chronology; but in our project we intend to present to the world a mystical and sensible concept which has never been fully explored, and that by no means we consider actual based on what's happening in the Mediterranean area today, which is causing big transformation in the relationships between Southern Europe and Northern Africa".
From these reasons came the decision to write and produce a tv (or web-tv) series. It will be a 10-episode chronicle of Francesco's life, highlighting his spiritual path from a Western point of view, interlinked with references and connections with the ancient Oriental traditions; the message wants to be that Francesco was and must represents the symbol of union between the West and the East through the principles he has taught during the course of his life.
"Assisi for Peace TV" will present the project officially on May 13, 2011, at 9:00pm in Perugia, hosted by the "Associazione Culturale di Porta Susanna".
Diego Antolini will give public reading of some of the episodes from the tv series to a selected audience; dott. Gubbiotti will be the moderator of the discussion which will follow.
Among the speakers, there will be contributions by Prof. Gaetano Mollo from the University of Perugia, and director Stefano Torrese.
