- (1888PressRelease) December 15, 2011 - RICHMOND, VA. - Modern rock band 'The JOB' has announced the official release of their newest CD will occur during a live radio segment to be broadcast on new rock radio station 102.1 FM 'The X', a commercial Clear Channel Radio station in Richmond, Va. The band will perform in-studio with DJ Jay Smack during the 'Studio B' radio show scheduled to air at 11pm eastern time on Sunday, January 8th, 2012. Three songs from the new EP titled 'Letters' will be spun alternatively to The J.O.B. performing three unrecorded new songs live on the air. Between songs, the band members and host Jay Smack will talk about the band yesterday, the band now, and the band's plans for tomorrow. The 30 minute segment will be available as a live stream on 102.1's website enabling the band's fans worldwide to listen live.
'The JOB' was formed in April 2008 when rock singer-songwriter Jim O'Ferrell returned home from his final combat deployment to the war in Iraq. With songwriting influenced by wartime experience, Jim teamed up with lead guitar player Jason Crawford and built a band to record and perform his powerful songs. Today, with bassist Justin Poroszok and drummer Antonio James Jr, The JOB has had two songs reach the national charts and have released 3 full length albums since 2009. This newest EP takes a more aggressive path than earlier work by streaking off into a more true modern rock song-style with masterfully textured layers of instruments and voice. The lyrical prose that is already familiar in The JOB's song lyrics continues to take fans on a whirling emotional ride with this new collection of music.
One song, titled 'Messenger' from the new EP was released as a single in September 2011. It has already started appearing in playlists on independent radio stations in the US and abroad. 'Messenger' can be heard along with more of the band's original songs on their official website at http://www.thejoband.com. CDs and individual song tracks are available on the official website and on iTunes, Amazon, Napster, CD Baby, and from other online music retailers.
