"The Innocence Revolution" Launches Global Effort Against Child Sexual Abuse
April 14th, 2013 marks the 30th anniversary of child abuse prevention month. The Innocence Revolution marks the occasion with the launch of a global fight against child sexual abuse.
- (1888PressRelease) March 14, 2013 - New York - Representatives in 32 of 50 States in America and in 33 countries around the world have volunteered to organize and host events to promote our World Day.
Co-founders Jill Starishevsky, Esq., Tom Scales and the team of The Innocence Revolution, are on a mission to combat child sexual abuse world-wide. Starishevsky is a New York City Assistant District Attorney and Child Advocate who has prosecuted hundreds of sex offenders for crimes against children. The stories of Tom Scales' "innocent" years are as heart wrenching as the abuse that occurs in every neighborhood of every country throughout the world.
The Innocence Revolution has established a framework to promote and provide access to resources, to educate communities, to protect children and to support the healing process for survivors of child sexual abuse. This historic initiative officially will launch on April 14, 2013, although some events will be held on other dates in April.
So far, representatives in 33 countries are registered and this number is growing. These countries include Australia, Ghana, England, United States, Pakistan and Thailand.
We ask you to join with us, add your voice to the thousands already participating and be a part of the solution to this institutionalized pestilence that feeds on our children.
