'Tech City' Entrepreneurs build 'Trip Advisor' for Post Graduate Dental courses
CPD Review is the UK's largest dental course directory with over 400 courses from more than 100 course providers. It is an impartial and independent platform that allows dental professionals to review and recommend post graduate courses.
- (1888PressRelease) August 14, 2012 - Safa Boga and Andy Shora, both aged 25 from London, had the idea for CPD Review after realizing there was no single source of post graduate education online. The pair joined forces at Central Working, a collaborative working space in the heart of London's 'Tech City' to create The 'Trip Advisor' of dental courses. After just six weeks, they have launched the UK's largest directory with over 400 courses from more than 100 course providers.
The site was inspired by Safa's brother, a practicing dentist from London who found that the only way to get in-depth information on the relevance and value of a particular course, was to ask any peers who had previously enrolled.
Dr. Mo Boga, ' There's an overwhelming number of courses to choose from, it's time consuming and so I mostly go by peer recommendation. We need a single resource to easily compare courses, by educational value, relevance and reputation.'
The desire for an impartial and informative resource was echoed across the dental community that Boga and Shora interviewed. CPD Review provides an independent and interactive solution to the increasingly commercialized dental education market. With cost pressures on dentists and practice managers, the benefits of choosing the most relevant and cost effective courses are clear.
Safa Boga, 'Many of the dentists we spoke to had spent several thousand pounds on continuing education in the last two years; Almost all of them wanted a source of impartial information and said they would find online reviews hugely valuable in making course decisions.'
Over the forthcoming weeks CPD Review plans to cast it's net further, capturing courses for dental nurses, hygienists and technicians. They are also launching a section for courses held abroad. The young entrepreneurs envisage CPD Review as the number one resource for post-graduate dental education globally, within the next two years and with such drive and focus we wouldn't rule out it being even sooner.
