"National Geographic Photo Ark" Exhibit Opens at Dallas Zoo, Raising Awareness and Inspiring Visitors to #SaveTogether
Outdoor exhibit at the Dallas Zoo features National Geographic Photographer and Fellow, Joel Sartore, putting a spotlight on animals, conservation, and endangered species.
- Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) May 20, 2017 - National Geographic's compelling book, Photo Ark, comes alive in the form of custom kiosks featuring stunning, grand photos of animals from around the world by acclaimed photographer and author Joel Sartore at the Dallas Zoo, running April 20 through September 4, 2017. Spotlighting endangered species, the 28, double-sided, 8 ft. tall, custom CNC-routed kiosks crafted by Mecca Design & Production, a custom exhibit fabrication company based in Dallas, hold awe-inspiring photos of the animals and share their story with those who come to the zoo. Visitors will get to stand up close and personal with 56 of Sartore's iconic images including a cheetah, koalas, a fig parrot, a brown-throated, sloth, a giant panda, a mandrill, a Brazilian porcupine, an African elephant, and many more.
National Geographic Fellow and long-time National Geographic Photographic contributor, Joel Sartore has documented animals and created two books with the mission of photographing as many species as possible, Photo Ark and children's book, Animal Ark written by Kwame Alexander. Not only documenting animals around the world, Sartore's goal includes raising awareness of endangered species and inspiring people, including Jane Goodall, quoted on the back cover of Photo Ark, to protect these animals.
According to Mecca Design's Kenneth Mecca, "As a fan of Mr. Sartore's work for years, it was an added pleasure creating custom pieces and working on a grand scale for such an important and meaningful project."
