'Mad Science' Interactive Kids Program Comes To The Volusia County Fall Home & Garden Show
Program Focuses on STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering & Math.
- Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) August 15, 2014 - Show Technology, producers of the Volusia County Fall Home & Garden Show is proud to announce that Mad Science, a fun, interactive and educational program is joining the entertainment line-up at the show being held on Aug. 22-24 at The Ocean Center in Daytona Beach.
Mad Science is on a mission to spark the imagination and curiosity of children by providing an understanding of science and how it affects their world. Mad Science encourages scientific literacy in children, inviting them to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) based careers. The Mad Science events at the Volusia County Fall Home & Garden Show are spectacular science-themed shows designed to amaze and entertain audiences. Children will learn about science by experiencing foggy dry ice storms, discovering Bernoulli's principle, making oozing Slime and much more!
The program is led by Central Florida resident, "Kinetic Kylie." With a background in Children's Theater, she has entertained and taught children all over Central Florida. Kinetic Kylie hopes to spread her love of science through fun and entertaining programs that get kids excited about science, without even realizing they are learning!
The Mad Science Home show schedule includes:
Friday, Aug. 22
3pm - 3:30pm: Mad Science Fire and Ice Show
Foggy dry ice storms, mystical gassy bubbles, and even a special Mad Science "burp" potion will amaze audiences as they learn about the three states of matter. All ages!
5pm - 6pm: FREE Slime-making
Learn about polymers and make your own cup of Ooey Gooey SLIME to take home! Must be at least 4 years old.
Saturday, Aug. 23
12pm - 12:30pm: Mad Science Fire and Ice Show
Foggy dry ice storms, mystical gassy bubbles, and even a special Mad Science "burp" potion will amaze audiences as they learn about the three states of matter. All ages!
3pm - 3:30pm: FREE Slime-making
Learn about polymers and make your own cup of Ooey Gooey SLIME to take home! Must be at least 4 years old.
5pm - 5:30pm: FREE Alginate Worm Making
Learn about reactions and make your own cup of Alginate Worms to take home! Must be at least 4 years old.
Sunday, Aug. 24
1pm - 1:30pm: Mad Science Fire and Ice Show

For one weekend only, the Volusia County Fall Home & Garden Show fills the entire Ocean Center exhibit hall and transforms it into a Home and Garden extravaganza. Local home & garden experts and related businesses exhibit everything from front entrance dιcor to backyard landscapes. The hours are:
- Friday, Aug. 22, 2 to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Aug. 23, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Sunday, Aug. 24, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Price of show tickets - sold on-site with cash or check only - are:
- Adults 17+ - $7.00
- Children 13-16 - $3.00
- 12 & Under - Free
- Active Duty Military with ID - FREE!
