Jess Peterson is the taxonomy specialist for the Internet, Broadcasting and Image Section (IBIS) at UNICEF in New York City. IBIS ensures the distribution and availability of multifold UNICEF multimedia resources, and produces and manages the various UNICEF Web sites. It therefore has multiple and complex information management requirements. Jessica is aiming for ontology-driven DAM systems integration, maximizing IBIS's potential for information delivery and an exceptional user experience.
Peterson's presentation will focus on how IBIS is successfully integrating enterprise-level systems into a cohesive information management infrastructure, using semantic technology to deliver relevant information to end users. Having successfully implemented automatic classification plugin for their CMS, UNICEF are in the process of integrating their search engine with the ontology for an enhanced search-and-navigation experience.
The DAM conference convenes on June 8 2011 at the Hilton Hotel, New York and runs over two consecutive days. The UNICEF presentation will take place on June 9th at 11:45am in Track One.
