"Istanbul Opera House" to Become one of Istanbul's Iconic Buildings in Taksim

- (1888PressRelease) October 02, 2018 - Designed as a "multi-venue performing art center", the Istanbul Opera House will be one of the architectural icons of Istanbul and one of Europe's ostentatious art centers when completed in 2019.
The new project of Istanbul’s Atatürk Cultural Center comprising a total enclosed area of 102.736 m2 will be carried out by Murat Tabanlıoğlu, son of Hayati Tabanlıoğlu, the architect of the former Atatürk Cultural Center which was located in the same place.
Set to appeal to larger crowds, the new opera house and cultural center project started with the construction of five culture blocks in the famous Taksim Square; consisting of three different halls which can accommodate a total of 3,737 people, cinema and theater, recording studios, rehearsal halls, exhibition halls, art galleries, rooms for soloists and orchestras, meeting rooms, restaurants and cafeterias as well as cultural streets spanning the surrounding area.
