Through online database service Pachube (pronounced Patch Bay), NXT based devices using the dWiFi can send real time data to the Internet.

As more and more technology can access the web wirelessly, Pachube's database allows users the power to share, collaborate, and make use of information generated from the world around them. The LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT can now also join other wireless devices through Dexter Industries Wifi Sensor. Turn any NXT creation into a member of the "Internet of Things."

Dexter Industries released some RobotC code today to enable any LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT with a dWiFi the ability to wirelessly transmit data. After uploading data on to the web, users can make real-time charts, embed graphs of the data on websites, and send real-time alerts to other devices like a cell phone. The opportunities are endless. Dexter Industries will release additional information all week on its blog to demonstrate how the Wifi Sensor can work with Pachube for a variety of projects.
