“Find, Fondle, Feed”- An initiative to help strays this winter
Helping strays in cold, Delhi youngsters come forward to lend a helping hand.
- (1888PressRelease) January 07, 2022 - As the temperature keeps dropping in the capital many strays are struggling for survival. Trying to find food and warmth under a scrap of clothes or cooped up in the corner of streets- many strays often lose to this battle. Perroayuda Welfare Foundation (PWF), an animal NGO based in Delhi conducted a Mega Stray Feeding Drive in Lajpat Nagar recently with the aim of feeding all the strays in the area.
This is one of the many feeding drives conducted by PWF, previously held in Netaji Subhash Place, Connaught Place, North Campus, Delhi University and other parts of the city. The group of 70 volunteers from all parts of Delhi- NCR fed over 100 strays in the area. Volunteers also interacted with shopkeepers, local administration, shoppers and hawkers to raise awareness on the issue of stray animals. People acknowledged and supported the efforts of this group of young animal activists.
“We get donations from all over the world. We work solely on donations to rescue strays and pay for their treatment. Our organisation is feeding around 1000 strays every day”, says Arpit Mathur, one of the directors of the organisation. The NGO also runs a recovery centre in Rohini. The recovery centre houses around 40 animals at the moment.
Lending a helping hand to our furry friends- PWF aims to find and feed all stray animals in need, provide them with food, care, love, medical treatment, and organise Mega Stray Feeding Drives for awareness and adoption. “We find strays, fondle them and feed them- nobody deserves to go hungry”, concludes Mathur.
