  • West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, FL (1888PressRelease) May 25, 2013 - On a picture-perfect evening this May, the South Palm Beach County chapter of the National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) hosted a fundraiser in the last available new penthouse at the iconic One Thousand Ocean. Southern views over the inlet and down the shoreline combined with northern and western Intracoastal panoramas to provide the ideal backdrop for a highly anticipated fashion show by Etoile.

Proprietor and style aficionado Etoile Volin selected some of her loyal followers to wear the latest fashions from her local retail store. Models included notables Christine Lynn, Jan Savarick, Helene Allie, Becky Davis, Gaylyn Fowler, Myrna Joplin, Jane McDonald, Susu Smith, One Thousand Ocean resident Jamie Nix, and Susan Constanza, who doubled as the show's upbeat commentator. Billed as "a provocative showcase of casual to evening wear," the high-energy show delivered on its promise and much more.

An impressive display of sparkling gems from Manhattan-based Jeri Cohen Fine Jewelry, as well as limited edition Louis Vuitton handbags from Lauren Schachter's Palm Beach Closet, added to the excitement, with a generous portion of the sales proceeds being donated to NPF. Another sponsor, Alpine Jaguar, showcased two new motor cars near the entrance of One Thousand Ocean, giving the evening even more panache from start to finish. In between, lively music, signature cocktails, fine wine and savory hors d'oeuvres complemented the elegant soirče attended by hundreds of the non-profit organization's supporters. Among other co-sponsors were One Thousand Ocean, Johnny Mangos and Southern Wine & Spirits of America.

"The fashion show was a tremendous undertaking, but one that came off seamlessly as guests sat around a runway set up solely for the occasion," said Stuart Perlin, the NPF's chapter executive director who also sits on the board of directors. "The show received rave reviews, as we expected it would. Etoile is a special woman whose talents, professionalism and generosity are in a class all their own. I thank her from the bottom of my heart for the effort she put forth to make this a very memorable event."

Perlin went on to acknowledge many of the directors and board members who volunteered their time to help, and thanked the other sponsors for their participation. "When we bring together great partners, great things occur. We raised $40,000 at this event, which will go toward continuing our support groups for both patients and caregivers, as well as perpetuating our exercise and wellness classes for Parkinson Disease patients.

One Thousand Ocean's development representative, Jamie Telchin, president of development for LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels, gladly provided the venue, catering, valet parking and other components of the event. "This was a great evening for a great cause," he said.
