"Daily Data Updates a Must for Call Centres," Says Postcode Anywhere
Postcode Anywhere helps improve customer contact data at Call Centre Expo 2012.
- (1888PressRelease) September 27, 2012 - On stand H22 at the Call Centre and Customer Management Expo, data quality experts Postcode Anywhere will be highlighting the importance of frequently updating datasets - with as many as one in every 29 records becoming corrupt in just one month.
While more and more organisations are tackling data quality with address validation software, very few are taking advantage of daily updates supplied by Royal Mail.
Guy Mucklow, managing director of Postcode Anywhere said: "Call centres operating in international markets stand to realise huge savings and increased revenue opportunities by improving the quality of their customer and prospect data.
"If users don't choose the right address management supplier, they might not end up with records as accurate as they might assume.
"With almost 3,000 address changes taking place every 24 hours to the 29 million records in Royal Mail's Postcode Address File (PAF®), the database is not a static file and is constantly changing to reflect new builds, updates and deletions. Daily updates will significantly improve the accuracy of customer data for call centres.
"According to our studies of how the PAF® data has changed so far in 2012, we could be on track for around a million changes to the file in total this year. After just one month, if you've not updated your data you could find around one in every 29 records are incorrect.
"As the pioneer of the web service approach to UK addressing, which completely removes the need for customers to manage and install updates, Postcode Anywhere is proud to be the first address management supplier to offer daily updates as standard, and show customers another way to enjoy the freshest data. Updates are at no extra charge and come as standard with the Postcode Anywhere service."
Man City Avoids Ticket Sale Own-Goals
Manchester City Football Club takes advantage of Postcode Anywhere's automatic daily updates within its call centre to ensure the accuracy of their contact data, preventing tickets and orders from being dispatched the wrong address.
Andrew Gilligan, Data and Insights Manager at the Club said: "The service allows our call centre management operatives to be more efficient and productive and mitigates the risk of tickets being sent to the wrong address. This is not only costly, as we have to rectify the problem, but can be emotionally devastating for our fans."
At Call Centre and Customer Management Expo, Europe's largest exhibition and conference for customer contact and management solutions, Postcode Anywhere will demonstrate how organisations can use its new addressing tool, Capture+ to ensure all customer contact information is captured, verified and maintained accurately and efficiently.
