$2.5m Fillmore Library Expansion Project Completed
Ventura County Public Works Agency Engineering Services completed the Fillmore Library’s $2.5 million expansion project in November 2022.
- Ventura, CA (1888PressRelease) December 21, 2022 - The expansion allows the library to offer programs and services to the community including greater access to computers and the internet, early childhood literacy programs, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, Early Childhood Literacy classes, and S.T.E.A.M. and Maker programs.
The Ventura County Library’s leadership recognized the demand for additional space at the Fillmore Library to accommodate the community’s growth in population over the last half century, and the changing services provided by today’s libraries.
“The Fillmore Library Expansion Project provided extensive upgrades to the original building, built in 1955, including upgraded electrical services and a new HVAC system, but we also added 2,500 sq feet. The project also included the construction of a new conference room, an innovation lab, community classroom, reading room, computer lab, two new study rooms, and new restrooms." said Devi Nallamala, Project Manager, Engineering Services.
